Joan Wilcox's book _Masters of the Living Energy_ is a great resource on the Pacos of Peru, but it's full of translation difficulties too. It's really clear in the book that those difficulties are not always about words, but also about concepts and worldviews. Matt Magee's book is differently good, if you're curious.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6407720217414346143.post-77145646488490056762011-06-09T13:42:43.704-04:002011-06-09T13:42:43.704-04:00@laraschamber: Thanks very much! I think that Magick can often be seen by non-magickal traditions as miracles. I would encourage your Christian friends to explore these questions, rather than set them aside because they are hard to explain.Witch Momhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09230271988961202618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6407720217414346143.post-33186128993878637882011-06-09T11:27:07.236-04:002011-06-09T11:27:07.236-04:00I am very intrigued by this post as well as your p...I am very intrigued by this post as well as your previous one on the craft (practice?) of the witch/shaman. I am so taken by the truth of it that I don't really even know that I know how to respond well.

People in my tradition (Christian) are often perplexed or dismissive of the healings of Jesus because "how can you explain a miracle?" or they try to explain it in ways that I've found unsatisfactory. I just want to accept that Jesus is one who was fully present and willing to participate in the life-giving and life transforming approach that you describe. At least that's how I see it, even if I still don't think my words are doing justice to any of this!

You have a very appealing way of telling about the sacred life-giving energy and those who are dedicated to making that energy visible and available.
